Summary

Test engineer, eight years in, now working as a Developer Productivity Engineer (DPE) under DevOps at Vidio — Indonesia's largest video streaming service. I build test automation and the pipelines it runs in: continuous integration, real-device labs across mobile and six television operating systems, and the hardware that makes those televisions reachable in the first place. Most recently I cut web build-and-test cycle time by about 70% and cloud infrastructure cost by 35%.

Experience

Senior Test Engineer

VidioApr 2023 — present

Indonesia's largest over-the-top (OTT) video streaming service

  • Moved into Developer Productivity Engineering (DPE) under DevOps in 2026, owning the architecture and upkeep of the automation CI/CD pipelines the test engineers depend on.
  • Cut the web build-and-test cycle by roughly 70% and audited cloud resource utilisation down to a 35% lower monthly bill, without loosening what the pipeline checks.
  • Extended real-device automation beyond regression into content verification, covering iOS, Android and web-engine televisions before a title goes live.
  • Built a retrieval-augmented (RAG) agent for customer service, deployed on Azure OpenAI — the hard part was retrieval quality, not the model.
  • Support Associate Team Leads on technical and strategic calls, and sit in the weekly Anchor and Mentor forum for test engineering.

Associate Team Lead, Test Engineering (TV)

VidioSep 2020 — Mar 2023
  • Led five test engineers: day-to-day operations, project assignments, one-on-ones and hiring.
  • Designed and maintained the automation CI/CD pipelines for the TV platforms.
  • Took the TV lab from unreachable to always-on — around 25 televisions across six operating systems, driven remotely over hand-soldered infrared boards.
  • Joined product planning with product managers, feeding testability back into features before they were built.

Test Engineer

VidioApr 2019 — Aug 2020
  • Built and extended the automated test suites, widening coverage across the mobile and TV apps.
  • Built and maintained the Jenkins jobs those suites ran in, so automation executed continuously rather than on request.
  • Ran one-on-one sessions across the team to spread testing practice and find what was worth optimising.

Test Engineer

BlackBerry MessengerFeb 2018 — Mar 2019

mobile messaging platform

  • Wrote and ran automated tests with Robot Framework and Appium against the BlackBerry Messenger application.
  • Tested on a broad spread of real devices, where the defects that matter to a messaging app actually show up.
  • Ran exploratory testing alongside the scripted suites, to catch what the test cases were never going to ask about.

Test Engineer

SejutacitaJun 2021 — Mar 2026

Part-time, concurrent with Vidio

Indonesian technology group for talent, careers and HR

  • Built and maintained the web and mobile automation suites in Robot Framework and Appium.
  • Initiated and carried out the migration of that automation to Playwright.
  • Ran performance and load testing with Locust, and API testing with Robot Framework.
  • Stood up and ran a Jenkins server on Google Cloud Platform for the continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Agreed QA timelines with stakeholders, and helped grow the team through hiring.

Selected work

Two of these are written up in full: theTV control planeand theautomation running on top of it.

2026

  • Optimised the Vidio web CI/CD pipeline: build and test cycle down about 70%, from a 40–60 minute run to 12–18 minutes.
  • Reduced Google Cloud Platform infrastructure cost 35% by auditing utilisation and right-sizing, with no loss of stability.

2025

  • Built CeRIA (Customer Service Intelligent Agent), a retrieval-augmented AI agent for customer support.
  • Created real-device automation for Content Checker, verifying published content on iOS, Android and web-engine televisions.
  • Improved the TV lab: a redesigned hand-soldered infrared remote board, and a lab layout that made the racks workable.

2024

  • Built an alerting path for Crashlytics email, filtering the noise down to the P0/P1 crashes worth waking up for.
  • Led the migration of mobile automation from Robot Framework to Maestro, including a public pull request to Maestro itself.
  • Recognised as a top-three "Weekly Hero" for the year.

2023

  • Built RETINA (React TV New Automation), an in-house framework for automating real web-engine televisions that no driver can attach to. A full test pass went from two or three days to one.
  • Revamped the PIREPLIES homepage, player and remote interfaces.

2020 — 2022

  • Created PIREPLIES, the in-house control plane that made the office televisions usable from anywhere — ESP8266 and Arduino boards driving infrared, with a Raspberry Pi streaming what the screen showed.
  • Built real-device automation for Android TV, working around the device-specific failures that only appear on real hardware.
  • Set up VPN access with the support team, so engineers could reach office devices from home.
